Her Story
Susan Wahlke was born and raised in Lincoln City, the daughter of a schoolteacher and a small business owner. She learned early that a strong community doesn't happen by accident — it takes people who show up, roll up their sleeves, and do the work.
After earning her degree in Public Administration, Susan returned home to Lincoln City and began her career in local government, serving on the Planning Commission and later as a City Council member for two terms. Her record is one of practical results: new parks, safer streets, and a revitalized downtown corridor that brought hundreds of jobs back to the city.
As Mayor, Susan has continued that tradition of getting things done. She has balanced the city budget four years running, launched Lincoln City's first affordable housing initiative, and built a community policing program that has reduced violent crime by 18%. She is running for re-election because the work isn't finished.
